Alyssa grew up in Yuma and has been swimming all her life. Since her parents first took her to the beach, she knew the water is where she belonged. Her first job was as a lifeguard in the Phoenix area before becoming a swim instructor. She has experience with swimmers of all ages and skill levels.
Mallory has been swimming ever since she could remember, especially when growing up in Yuma. She has worked with the City of Yuma as both a lifeguard and swim instructor for seven summers and has taught all ages.
Nadia has three years of swim lesson teaching experience working at Demont Family School in Tucson, AZ where she taught children aged anywhere from two months to 13 years old. She's also certified in working with children with special needs and abilities.
Samantha is a certified Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard through the American Red Cross. Samantha teaches swim lessons year round between Yuma and her college town in Wisconsin and is coaching in the evenings with Yuma Heat. She grew up in Yuma where she started swimming at 4 yrs old and in high school swam on the Yuma Heat swim team.
Jackie is originally from Yuma, Arizona and the founder of Arizona Mobile Swim. She has been teaching water safety for over a decade at public pools and privately. Jackie can't be booked for swim lessons at this time as she's busy as the sole person handling business operations.
We're currently hiring swim lesson instructors across the state of Arizona! Cities include Yuma, Gilbert, Mesa, Phoenix, Surprise, and more!
Instructors must be comfortable teaching a variety of skill levels and ages. Swim lesson instructors provide their own transportation to and from the student's pool of choice, usually a backyard or neighborhood pool.
All swim lessons last for 30 minutes regardless of the number of students. Most lessons are private one on one lessons and some lessons may include a sibling with similar skill level.
Applicants must be able to work independently with limited to no supervision and must have reliable transportation. Customer service skills and timeliness are of great importance. Must be great working with both children and adults.
Hours are flexible. This is a great role for someone looking to supplement their income or who is in town for the summer. This is an irregular income - some weeks have lots of work, others have no work. Pay is based on number of lessons completed per week.
Position start date is flexible and ideally starts in May and ends in August/September.
Requirements for the position:
- Must have reliable transportation to take you to lesson locations
- Fingerprint clearance card must be able to be obtained upon request
- Must have current or swim lesson teaching certification or demonstrated experience and knowledge of swim stokes and technique
